“Through the lens of ethnographic cinema, we will embark on a visual journey exploring different mediums and methodological approaches. Themes such as collective memory, intergenerational memory and community memory in various cultural contexts will provide insights into the present and the universal human experience of memory as a tool for knowledge.”
I collaborated with doctor Regina Knapp, curator of Visual Anthropology at the Museum of Ethnology and Asian Art, to co- curate and organise ethnographic film events in partnership with the renowned German International Ethnographic Film Festival (GIEFF). Held at the Humboldt Forum over two editions (2022–2024), the event brought together filmmakers from diverse nationalities to explore pressing topics such as colonialism, cultural identity, indigenous rights, collective memory, archives, activism, gender issues and more, through the lenses of the ethnographic approach.
